Some 2,800 sheep and lambs have arrived in Singapore

Some 2,800 sheep and lambs have arrived in Singapore, ahead of Hari Raya Haji tomorrow.

Five hundred lambs from Canada have been transported to five mosques, after meeting the Agri-Food and Veterinary Authority of Singapore’s animal welfare requirements.

Minister-in-charge of Muslim Affairs Yaacob Ibrahim was at the Changi Air Freight Centre yesterday to receive 2,300 sheep from Australia.

The animals will be sent to mosques and Malay/Muslim organisations for the annual Korban rites, which will be conducted on the 23 approved sites from tomorrow, after the Hari Raya Haji prayers. Photo: Singapore Mosques Korban Committee.
