Restoran Berputar Seri Angkasa 2007

From the first time I heard about the revolving restaurant at the top of KL Tower, I have always imagined a classy and romantic settings. Two people sitting at a table, holding hands, face towards the high window, eyes overseeing the lights in the city with fragrant of wine lingering at the tip of the tongue. Zip!

That's the sound of my wandering mind came back to reality. The restaurant's target market are businessmen and tourists. Buffet with a spread of some asian and some western food. Long squarish or big roundish table for at least 6. Sigh... Does reality always has to be so hard to swallow?!

Location: K.L. Tower, Off Jalan P. Ramlee, Kuala Lumpur
Rating: Average

Review

I don't normally assess the ambience because food is my main concern. Sometimes best food can be sitting next to a large sewerage drain for all we know. An exception here because this is... "Da Revolving Restaurant". Rumours that bookings for this place lined up to the next year. Well that's why they are called rumours.

The settings were generally simple but slightly crowded and narrow, as there is limited space for the restaurant to utilise. I would suggest diners to come earlier in the evening so that you can witness the darkening skyline. It is more interesting to experience the twilight than pure night lights.

Now about the food. They have 3 stations. The one below is solely Malaysian fare. Rice, meats, veges, kerabus (mixed local salad), and some roti (bread).
Taste wise, nothing to shout about.

The second station is more international mix of asian and western. You've got sushis, pastas, roast lamb, fresh salads, fresh oysters, and appetisers.

The sushi rice was too moist and pressed too hard, making the rice lost its texture. Too lumpy for my liking.

The variety of appetisers are ok. Average taste.

These are supposed to be fresh oysters, but I smell a little not-so-fresh. Just a little, but enough to make me stay away. Anyway, I have decided to stay away as I realised I am eating something live and raw. When I think bout it, it's kinda cruel.

The last station is for desserts. A variety of western and local desserts, including pengat durian (cooked durian fruit with coconut milk and palm sugar).

What I find delightful is the way they decorate the desserts. It is quite beautifully done.

There are also a number of chocolate cakes, all for the ladies.

Then there are mini chocolate tarts and mini rum ball (minus the rum, as this place is halal).

Even more mini chocolate and vanilla cakes and rolls.

The local fruits are also attractively displayed. I would say the effort is quite commendable at this station.

I can't say this is the best buffet spread, but the effort is there. Business wise, this might actually work better than the dreamy restaurant I imagined. But taste wise they are just average.

PJD sells KL tower for RM220mil

PJ Development Holdings Bhd (PJD) has entered into a sale and purchase agreement with Able Starship Sdn Bhd to dispose of a 28-storey office tower in Kuala Lumpur for RM220mil cash.

The property group said in a filing with Bursa Malaysia that it saw the proposed disposal as timely, allowing it to unlock the value of the property in view of the prevailing favourable market prices for property sales.

“Furthermore, the disposal will enhance the financial position of the group as it stands to receive a cash inflow of RM220mil.

“The proceeds would be channelled towards working capital and repayment of bank borrowings, and are envisaged to be fully utilised within one year from the completion of the disposal,” it said.

PJD’s original cost of investment for the building was RM129.2mil, while the audited net book value as at June 30, 2013 was RM116.2mil.

The disposal was expected to realise a net gain of about RM101mil, representing an earnings per share of some 22 sen per share.

“In addition, the gearing of the group would also drop as the proceeds would be partially utilised towards the repayment of bank borrowings.”

The Coolest Aqua Tropical Rainforest Aquarium At Kuala Lumpur

You must have heard of the new-fangled Blue Coral fascinating Aquarium, the coolest Aqua Tropical Rainforest Aquarium concept with thriving plants and cherry fish. The coral fishes of different species such as blueface angelfish, parrot fish, anthias fish, clown fishes, orbiculate batfish… you name it they have it! What are your thoughts upon the new one that is somewhere nearby KL Tower?

Check out the upcoming expansion, the Blue Coral Aquarium which is sited in the famous 421m high telecommunications and broadcasting steeple, KL Tower! Only a 5-minute walk to the heart of city (Bukit Nanas), why not? The introduction at the atmosphere of 360 degrees revolving restaurant will definitely go viral and be the talk of the town. Of course! It is mainly because the KL Tower is the tourist attraction and tourists’ all-time favorite spot amongst. Well, it is the second aquarium in the KL city after the proliferation of others!

Experience a one-stop off at the variety spots that allow you to sight through an array of fishes sliding along the vast aquarium. It would be a unique stop-over as the expert guide will have an exceptional showcase behind-the-scenes fish species. You will also be awe-inspired exploring more than thousand of sea creatures living pleasantly under the ambience of forest concept since the spot is the neighborhood of Taman Bukit Nanas, Kuala Lumpur that known as the tropical forest bushes reserve. Yes, you read it right! It is an aquarium in conjunction with Big Green Forest Ocean picture that pretty much known as “Aqua Tropical Forest”. You will definitely find it amazing whereby Blue Coral Aquarium also engages local Tropicana Rain Forest interior design in an innate way, indicating the Natural Design Concept. What’s better of having both forest and sea view environment altogether?

According to visual impact, the above-mentioned styles are often imply the combination of plants ambience and animal species, without regard to geographic origin. At times, the theory must need not to be similar to a garden-like impression but if plants and fish species were to come into view for time being, it would be obliged to match-up that certainly found in the represented nature.

the Islamic-style architectural

You can see the Islamic-style architectural motifs on the bottom of the main structure, indeed this whole part of the tower is said to be based on a muslim spinning top.
The day I visited there were terrific thunderstorms blowing through the area, with lightning bolts hitting many of the skyscrapers around the tower, and the tower itself taking direct strikes every couple of minutes with a huge bang as the lightning was safely conducted down to earth.
I enjoyed the whole spectacle while having a refreshing drink at the base of the tower, clear of the rain but outside the building as others huddled inside like scared rabbits!
